We at Murabbi wish to unlock the potential of our clients to enhance strengths, skills and capabilities – we believe coaching is a great tool to achieve that!
What is coaching?
Sir John Whitmore, who is the author of ‘Coaching for Performance’ defines coaching as ‘...unlocking a person’s potential to maximise their own performance. It is helping them to learn rather than teaching them.’
Where Counseling returns a person from a set-back, to their normal state, Coaching pushes a person from their normal state to greater heights.
As the ICF explains, ‘coaching is an interactive process that helps individuals and organisations to develop more rapidly and produce more satisfying results. Coaches work with clients in all areas including business, career, finances, health and relationships. As a result of coaching, clients set better goals, take more action, make better decisions, and more fully use their natural strengths.’ (International Coach Federation) .
Coaching allows a person to reflect on themselves and their environment, something many people fail to do as they get drowned out by the pressures of their work-life. It is said that Ghandi reflected and meditated for one hour a day. When asked how he managed to do this during times of great pressure, he is reported to have replied: “In those times, I get up earlier and meditate for two hours!”
